The Lamborghini Centenario coupe, as the name itself suggest, was built to celebrate the centenary of Feruccio Lamborghini’s birth. It debuted at the Geneva Auto Show and basically stole the show. The Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann described this car in a pretty intriguing way: “The Centenario is a car that perfectly combines tradition and innovation. It looks to the future while honoring the legend that is Feruccio Lamborghini.” The fact that only 20 of these cars were produced is what makes the idea of driving one even more intriguing, don’t you think?

Designing the exterior of the Centenario, Lamborghini decided to keep their signature chassis lines, so sharp you feel they might cut you. Up front, the car has a pretty aggressive front fascia and a deeply vented hood that makes the car look almost beastly. However, it’s more about what you can’t see – its amazing aerodynamics come from the underbody which has been optimized to make the Centenario slicker. The two big nostrils in the hood are meant to divert air over the Aventador’s windshield, and these two outlets are fed by openings behind the double front splitters, which also provide downforce. However, the craziest aero tweak are definitely the vented headlights which suck in and channel air around the Centenario’s big front fenders.

Interior can, as in many luxurious cars, be personalized according to the customer’s preferences through Lamborghini’s Ad Personal personalization program. The customizable options include color, piping, stitching, leather, Alcantra – which wraps carbon fiber seats, steering wheel, door trim inserts, and the A-pillars – and other materials. As for the technology inside the coupe, it comes with the instrument cluster that is a full digital display, with the 10.1-inch touchscreen dominating the center control, including navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It can also record speed, telemetry, track times, and G-forces while driving. Lamborghini really went out of their way with the technology in creating this masterpiece.

Each Centenario comes with a V12 engine which has an unbelievable 770 horsepower and 507 lb-ft of torque. Lamborghini stated that this is the most powerful engine they’ve ever produced. It can send this 3,351-pound car from 0 to 62 mph in only 2.7 seconds, and from 0 to 186 mph in 23.5 seconds, with a top speed of over 217 mph. The quick acceleration is aided by the permanent four-wheel drive, including the new Lamborghini rear-wheel steering system. Basically, launching this beast feels like you’re launching yourself into the space – it feels like a rocket, and sounds like one too. Don’t get into this car if you’re faint of heart, because this is the adrenaline rush of a lifetime.

The Centenario is a desirable collector’s car, which isn’t only remarkable by its design, but also by demonstrating new Lamborghini technologies and outstanding performance. This car is the most fitting tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini, who created this exceptional brand and believed anything was possible, and because it keeps the passion of this great visionary alive in all its aspects, driving one of these is definitely an extraordinary, exciting, luxurious, and almost unreal experience you will never forget!
